Privacy policy

Your health information is personal. This page explains in plain words what Famneo collects, why, who can see it, and what control you have.
Who we are
Famneo is operated by Rihaan Labs ("we", "us"). For the information you add to Famneo, we decide how it is processed, so we are the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Your account: your name and the email address or phone number you sign in with.
- Family profiles: for each person you add, their name, date or year of birth, sex, and a Famneo ID.
- Health records you add: reports, prescriptions, vaccination cards, treatment papers, notes you type or speak, and the values read from them.
- Basic technical data: logs needed to keep the service secure and working, such as sign-in times and error records.
Why we use it
We use your information to keep each person's record, read and organise your papers, show trends and summaries, calculate the record health score, send reminders you ask for, and let you share a summary with a doctor. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Consent
- Consent is asked for each person. A reader of papers using AI works only for a person whose consent is recorded.
- A summary is shared with a doctor only when you choose to share it, and the link expires.
- We will ask separately, and clearly, before using any record for research or to improve the service in a way that could identify a person.
- You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing stops future use. It does not undo what was lawfully done before.
Children
A parent or legal guardian creates and manages a child's record and gives consent on the child's behalf. We do not show advertising to children or track them for marketing.
AI reading of papers
To read a photo or PDF, the file may be sent securely to an AI service provider that works on our behalf. This is done only for a person who has given consent, only to read that paper, and we ask the provider to use it only for that purpose. You can switch AI reading off for a person at any time and add values by hand instead.
Who else can see your information
- Doctors and others you choose, through a share link you create.
- Service providers that help us run Famneo, such as hosting, AI reading and message delivery, under agreements that limit what they may do.
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
Your records are stored on servers in India. They are protected in transit with HTTPS and by access controls, and we take regular backups. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your records while your account is active. When you delete a person or close your account, the information is removed from the live service and from backups as backup cycles roll over, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, erase it, withdraw consent, nominate someone to act for you, and raise a grievance. Most of this you can do inside Famneo. For anything else, write to us using the contact details below.
Contact and grievances
Write to the Grievance Officer, Rihaan Labs, using the contact details on rihaanlabs.com. We aim to reply promptly and to resolve complaints within the time the law allows. If we do not resolve it, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you inside Famneo before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
